Tangerine dream hyperborea vinyl. There exists another version identical in almost every way but with a mould sid code on the matrix hub pointing to a post 1993 reissue repress. Pilots of the purple twilight. I have to say that this is a fine album and along with tangram 1980 is certainly one of the better albums released by tangerine dream during the 1980s. The decision not to renew the contract must have given messrs froese franke and schmoelling a real boot up the jacksey musically and creatively because hyperborea is in my opinion the best record that this line up made for virgin.

Hyperborea is very much an anomaly in this era of tangerine dream being more based around suggestive mood pieces than simple pop pieces or extensive synth solos. This is the first cd release of this album.

Hyperborea was the last album that tangerine dream made on the virgin label after a near ten year association and to be fair lots of success. It is perhaps this that makes it somewhat forgotten yet it is this that makes it my favourite album of theirs. Electronic rock style. Tangerine dream follow up their superb in search of hades box set with another virgin era package.
