Recorded and released in 2001 after linkous near fatal overdose in a london hotel room the album is a beautiful and fragile exploration of somber themes. Dreamy arrangements distorted vocals and slivers of feedback add to sparklehorse s down to earth melancholy and made vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot spontaneous happy sad noisy and quiet. The first four sparklehorse records are together on vinyl for the first time.

Take the journey a box set containing the first four lps from sparklehorse exclusive to vmp. The sound is perhaps a little dated though a little nineties sounding. The record sounds warm but falls below exsoectations of what i had hoped. Sounds clean and crisp on vinyl but i d guess it s just taken from the cd and not the original masters. To make sure these sound better than they ever have before we ve expanded this from a 4lp set to a 7lp set with exclusive side d. Although just over an hour of music is squeezed onto a single lp 10 minutes more than the plain reissues by the way sound quality is top notch throughout which is no surprise considering kevin grey mastered this original release.

Groundbreaking director david lynch largely known for films such as mulholland drive and blue velvet has achieved a lot more in the world of art than just feature films.
